In the recent weeks, the New York State Office of the Medicaid Inspector General (OMIG) has conducted numerous unannounced on-site pharmacy visits as part of their new investigative initiative. At the time of the on-site audit, a letter referring to a Credential Verification Review is delivered.

The investigators, typically accompanied by a pharmacy consultant, will take photos of the store, request certain documents, including inventory and dispensing records and may potentially conduct staff interviews with questions typically relating to the pharmacy’s operations and practices.
