With extensive experience in healthcare transactions, Kristina advises clients on start-ups, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and various other business arrangements involving pharmacies, medical, dental as well as integrative medicine, and aesthetic practices, management service organizations, ambulatory surgical centers, licensed home care agencies, and adult social day care centers as well as long-term care institutions. She successfully represented numerous healthcare professionals and organizations in reimbursement audits and investigations, credentialing and enrollment disputes, and regulatory proceedings initiated by both managed care entities and government payors, as well as state and federal enforcement agencies. A recognized authority in healthcare law, Kristina has negotiated and drafted hundreds of industry-specific agreements, including employment contracts, provider service agreements, management service agreements, and vendor agreements. Her regulatory expertise spans compliance with state and federal laws, including fee-splitting, anti-kickback statutes, self-referral prohibitions, and HIPAA regulations. She frequently advises clients on compliance with the New York State Office of Medicaid Inspector General and Department of Health regulations. 

Kristina defends clients facing investigations by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General and the U.S. Department of Justice and has extensive experience defending healthcare professionals in investigations conducted by the New York State Attorney General’s Office, the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Office of Medicaid Inspector General.

Kristina’s advocacy further extends to professional disciplinary proceedings, where she regularly represents physicians and nurse practitioners before the New York State Office of Professional Medical Conduct and pharmacists, dentists,  nurses, and other healthcare professionals before the New York State Office of Professional Discipline. She is also frequently called upon to provide strategic counsel in medical and dental malpractice cases, insurance reimbursement disputes, and partnership dissolutions.
